Mission & Vision
LEARNING for LIFE
Tell me and I’ll forget
Show me and I’ll remember
Involve me and I’ll understand
When I reflect I'll learn
Lloyd Street School aims to develop the individual talents of students and teach them to relate the experience of the classroom to the realities of the world. Beyond intellectual rigour and high academic standards, strong emphasis is placed on the ideals of international understanding and responsible citizenship. Students are encouraged to become critical and compassionate thinkers, lifelong learners and informed participants in local and world affairs. Students will be conscious of the shared humanity that binds all people together while respecting the variety of cultures and attitudes that makes for the richness of life.
The school values which we want to see in action in our school every day are:
Integrity - Having good intentions, doing the ‘right thing’, even when no one is looking and trusting in your choices when they feel right. Being committed, resilient, and respectful to self, others and the environment.
Curiosity - The desire to seek new knowledge, challenges, and experiences. To approach with creativity and an open mind, with critical thinking skills and to develop different or inventive solutions or ideas.
Courage - Having the belief and trust in yourself to take action or step out of your comfort zone, even with difficult circumstances, challenges, or against the expectations of others.
Compassion - Being kind, valuing diversity and showing empathy and care for others and an understanding of how you might respond to support them.
